The Bateson Idea Group - BIG - is a nonprofit organization who mission is to further the exploration of the ideas of Gregory Bateson.

BIG is responsible for the management and curation of Gregory Bateson’s archives and handles permissions and intellectual property issues for the Gregory Bateson Estate. 

BIG encourages scholarly access for those interested in working in the archives.

BIG develops and supports ongoing educational, research, and scholarly projects that utilize, preserve, and otherwise grapple with the works and ideas of Gregory Bateson.  

The Bateson Idea Group encourages the kinds of projects that extend and develop, as well as apply, his ways of thinking.
